Mighty Shorts Is Bringing Back Live Comedy
Live, scripted, sanitary open-air sketch shows are coming to Ponce City Market
The Mighty Shorts Comedy Collective partners with RoleCall Theatre and Ponce City Market to present Mighty Shorts Comedy Campsite, a run of live performances in the outdoor amphitheater of Ponce City Market where safety and fun will appear in equal measure.
“While we understand the importance of creating a safe experience for our audience and actors, we also feel it is important to bring on the laughter and togetherness that is so sorely needed right now,” says Lauren Barash, Mighty Shorts co-founder.
The Mighty Shorts Comedy Campsite performances will be comprised of six to eight sketches written and performed by local Mighty Shorts talent. Attendees are encouraged to join in the theme and bring blankets, lanterns, coolers and whatever gear adds to the campsite vibe.
Some of the health and safety measures attendees can expect include:
Contactless payment: Tickets will not be available for purchase in advance, rather guests will be encouraged to “pay what they can” via their personal mobile device. Seating will be first come, first served.
Distanced seating: Audience seating will be marked to ensure a six-foot separation.
Time sensitive performances: Each show will be 30 – 40 minutes long
Limited Service: Mighty Shorts does not plan to sell or serve food or beverages, but guests are encouraged to BYOB
Actor Safety: Actors who feel sick or have been exposed to someone who feels sick will not perform. Actors will keep a safe distance and will not make physical contact on or off stage.
PPE: Masks are required for all attendees
