The Mighty Shorts FilmSlam is the premiere showcase of the latest sketch comedy films from Atlanta’s robust indie filmmaking community. Submissions are now open for our next event on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. See below for submission instructions.

The FilmSlam not only offers a chance to see your work on the big screen and to laugh with other filmmakers and comedians, it’s a great chance to connect with others and expand your filmmaking and comedy networks. Come for the excellent films, stay for the even better connections.

Plus, there are some great prizes kindly donated by our sponsors! Our panel of judges will select winners in a variety of categories, recognizing the most outstanding work.

Submission Criteria

Deadline: 11:59pm Thursday, July 20, 2023

Genre: Comedy, always comedy

Length: MUST BE under 10 minutes, but we heavily favor 5 minutes or less

Release: We heavily favor films not yet released online

Credits Length: 30 seconds max

File size: 1GB max

Loudness: -23 LUFS with -2.3 dB peaks (this will greatly help me make the viewing experience more consistent and prevent your film being too loud or quiet among the others)

Max # of submissions: 3 per director
